Period Inspiration:

Step into an English countryside reverie with the Sussex Cottage Candy Stripe Loveseat, a two-seat rendering of the Bridgewater silhouette that has anchored British sitting rooms since the 19th century. True to its roll-arm heritage, the arms curl outward and sit lower than the back, tapering into loose, boxed cushions built for sinking into after a country walk. Below, turned wood legs in a rich mahogany-toned finish stand exposed rather than skirted - the more relaxed, cottage-leaning take on this classic English roll-arm form.

The upholstery is a crisp candy stripe: even, narrow bands of red and cream named for 19th-century stick candy, a cheerful cousin of the heavier ticking stripes long favored in English and French country interiors. The effect reads equal parts Sussex farmhouse and seaside cottage, just as at home beside chintz and needlepoint as against plain painted paneling.

Sized for two, this loveseat suits a bay window, a reading nook, the foot of a bed, or a second seat beside a larger sofa. Loose, plush cushions and a durable stripe weave make it as practical for daily life as it is handsome for company - a true English country loveseat for the modern cottage home.
